Bumper scuff repair

A scuff is the most common bumper job we see: the corner catches a kerb, a wall or a bollard and takes the paint back to the primer or the plastic. We flat the damaged area, fill where it's needed, prime, match the colour on site, blend the new paint into the surrounding panel and finish in two-pack lacquer. Done properly, the repair is invisible and lasts the life of the car.

Bumper scratch repair

Light scratches that haven't gone through the paint are often polished out. Deeper ones — a key mark, a trolley track, a scrape down the moulding — need prep, colour and lacquer, blended out so there's no hard edge to see. We'll tell you which one yours is from a photo.

What we repair, and what we don't

We repair: bumper scuffs and corner scrapes · scratches, from light marks to deeper gouges · paint damage on bumpers, wings and door edges · colour matching on metallics, pearls and solid colours.

We don't: repair cracked or split bumpers, or supply and fit replacement bumpers. If a photo shows a crack, we'll say so rather than take the job on.

What sets the price

Every bumper is priced on the damage in front of us, so we quote from photos rather than a price list. What moves the price:

• how big the damaged area is, and how deep it goes;
• the paint: pearls and three-coat colours take more blending than a solid colour;
• whether the damage runs onto a wing, a door edge or a trim piece;
• whether it's one corner or the full bumper face.

How the repair works

2. Get a fixed quote. Steve reviews them himself and comes back with a price that's confirmed before any work starts.
3. We come to you. Home or workplace, at a time that suits you.
4. Drive away the same day. Most single-bumper repairs take two to three hours on the driveway.

What we need at your address

• Off-road parking — a driveway or your workplace car park. We can't work on a car parked on the street.
• A plug we can use. The van doesn't carry its own power.
• Weather is fine. We work under a tent or cover when it turns.
